Burl Tree Care & Maintenance
What types of wood are used for the wooden trees?
We primarily work with Black Walnut and Cherry hardwoods. Walnut provides a rich, dark chocolate tone that adds depth to a room, while Cherry offers a warmer hue that matures into a deep reddish-brown patina over time. Mixing the two species in a forest set creates a stunning visual contrast, highlighting the unique grain patterns of each hardwood.
What finish is used on the wooden trees?
Our trees are hand-finished with our non-toxic, allergen-free Refined Walnut Wood Oil. This food-safe finish protects the wood and enhances the natural grain, ensuring the trees are safe to display anywhere in your home, including kitchen islands and dining areas.
Are these wooden trees only for Christmas decor?
While they are a centerpiece of holiday mantels, our trees are designed as year-round home decor. Their minimalist, organic shapes transition seamlessly from a winter landscape to a springtime entryway or a sophisticated dining table centerpiece. Inspired by the resilience of Northeast evergreens, they provide a timeless, nature-inspired aesthetic for every season.
Is every wooden tree the same shape?
No. A hallmark of the Forestland Collection is the subtle variation in silhouette. Some trees feature a more slender, modern profile, while others are turned with a classic, fuller shape. These artisan signatures reflect the hand of the maker and the unique character of the specific hardwood used in the turning process.
Do these wooden trees make good hostess gifts?
Our handmade trees are premier choices for host and holiday gifting. They are heirloom-quality pieces that represent the best of Northeast craftsmanship and sustainable luxury. Timeless and compact, they make a thoughtful gift for anyone who appreciates fine woodworking, minimalist design, or a unique 5th-anniversary wood present.
